Walnut Cover-up Console Cabinet

This cabinet is one of the most distinctive pieces I’ve created. It was custom designed to conceal an old air intake handler that couldn’t be removed — transforming a functional challenge into a design feature. The shallow central shelving and uniquely contoured back accommodate the existing structure while maintaining balance and flow. Crafted from solid walnut and accented with brass wallpaper, textured speaker fabric, and interesting hardware, the piece draws inspiration from the client’s father’s guitar collection. A fun example of how thoughtful design can turn a constraint into a centerpiece.
